Rīgas satiksme invites students to apply for a student e-card on the website www.eriga.lv
On the website www.eriga.lv , parents can remotely complete an application for a student e-card. By filling out the application, the data about the student and the school in which the student studies will be selected automatically – the parents will only have to add a photo of the student. On the basis of the received applications, Rīgas satiksme will make the student e-cards and deliver them to the respective schools where they will be signed by the headmaster and afterwards issued to the students.
If the application is completed after 5 September, student e-cards will only be issued in Rīgas satiksme customer service centres. After receiving the card, it will have to be signed by the headmaster of the school.
Also, it is possible to apply and receive a student e-card in one of the seven Rīgas satiksme customer service centres. The parent only needs a statement from the respective educational institution and a photograph if the child does not come along. However, due to the large amount of customers at the beginning of September, customers may have to wait in line.
The student e-card serves as a student card and as an e-voucher for public transport. Moreover, in many schools in Riga it serves as an electronic key and as a payment card for meals.
